Dr. Yasir Hussain was born in the tribal lands of the Kurram Agency in the town of Alizai, grew up in Peshawar, and later relocated to Islamabad, Pakistan. With a love for literature, Hussain became a Fulbright scholar at the University of Pennsylvania before completing the Phd in Language, Literacy, and Socio-Cultural Studies at the University of New Mexico. In the dissertation called English Language Teachers’ Preparedness: An Investigation of Idealogical Meaning-Making in Higher Education Institutions in Pakistan, Hussain seeks to understand the influence of the English language on modern teaching methods. Today, Dr. Hussain teaches with the Department of English at National University of Modern Language in Islamabad.
